Economic DevelopmentGreencastle-Antrim Area Development Corporation (GAADC) The GAADC is housed in the local Chamber of Commerce Building at: 217 East Baltimore Street, Greencastle PA 17225 Purpose Statement The purpose of the organization is to acquire, own, improve, develop, mortgage, operate, lease, dispose of and otherwise deal with real and personal property in Greencastle and Antrim Township. The Greencastle-Antrim Area Development Corporation works towards advancement of commercial, industrial, civic and general interest of Greencastle and Antrim Township. The Greencastle-Antrim area is located near two major
interstates: I-81 (North-South), which connects to I-75 (PA turnpike), and I-70
(East-West). The Norfolk Southern and CSX Railroads, and the Washington County
Regional Airport, a local airport that is just a few miles south of Greencastle,
serves the area.
History The GAADC was formed to bring Corning Glass Works to Greencastle in 1959. In the early 1970’s, GAADC was instrumental in bringing Armco Steel, Sylvania Shoes and Anvil Products. Present In 1983, the GAADC purchased the Kriner Farm and began development of the Greencastle Antrim Industrial Park, with Graphics Universal being the first business to move onto Commerce Avenue.
